What can be observed in the political and social history of Kurdistan is considered as an indicator that the Kurds are the least likely people to have narrated their view of their history, and the negative impact that this has had on them can easily be observed. At the present time, the influence of what was narrated by orientalists and neighbouring countries is very clear on Kurdish historians.

There is no doubt that the experience of countries such as Iran and Turkey in their documents and narratives of their history has preceded Kurdistan to a large degree. The main reason for their progress is due to the existence of a national archive and to work towards their own narratives and to study the archives of their documents and records;  in the same way, the interest in the national archive and the attempt to establish a national archive, urging researchers to work on manuscripts and documents inside and outside Kurdistan is regarded as an attempt to initiate a Kurdish national narrative and a step towards collecting the scattered archives of Kurdistan. Therefore, it is important to work on the following three levels:

1. Show the theoretical perspective of archiving and the necessity of national archiving.

2. Nationalising archives, including national and foreign documents on the Kurds, incorporating and establishing these documents in order to benefit from them in current and future studies in the field of history.

3. Work on the historical, geographic, cultural events, as well as political figures in the history of Kurdistan and show their role according to and based on documents and manuscripts.
